¿ìèÊÓƵ Honors Idaho Attorneys for Pro Bono Service
BOISE, ID – The ¿ìèÊÓƵ (¿ìèÊÓƵ) Board of Directors will present Pro Bono Service Awards on Thursday, July 26, to two Idaho attorneys, a law firm, and a nonprofit in recognition of their extraordinary commitment to equal justice.
The ¿ìèÊÓƵ Pro Bono Service Awards Reception will take place at 5 p.m. at the office of Holland & Hart, 800 W. Main Street. The awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with the ¿ìèÊÓƵ Board of Directors’ third quarterly meeting of the year.
Speakers at the event include Idaho Supreme Court Justice Robyn M. Brody and J. Walter Sinclair, Of Counsel at Holland & Hart LLP. They will be joined by ¿ìèÊÓƵ Board Chair John G. Levi and other members of ¿ìèÊÓƵ's Board.
Recipients of ¿ìèÊÓƵ’s Pro Bono Service Awards were nominated by ¿ìèÊÓƵ’s grantee Idaho Legal Aid Services. The recipients are:
- Jeff Howe, an attorney who has volunteered for Idaho Legal Aid Services for eleven years, closing 59 cases for pro bono clients.
- Idaho Trial Lawyers Association,a nonprofit made up of more than 400 lawyers, law students, and legal staff that provides free legal clinics and other services to the community.
- Justice Jim Jones, a former Chief Justice of the Idaho Supreme Court who established the Idaho Pro Bono Refugee Program to help refugees obtain needed legal representation.
- Latham & Watkins’s Washington, DC Office, a law firm that has partnered with Idaho Legal Aid Services for nearly a decade, contributing more than 7,000 hours of pro bono attorney time.
